A torii gate stands in shallow water, silhouetted flat black against an enormous crimson moon that fills the middle of the frame. Cherry blossom branches reach in from the top and both sides, their petals drawn in pink and white against a sky that...

A green aurora sweeps across a star-dense night sky, curling into a wide arc above a jagged range of snow-streaked peaks. The bands run from acid green at their base to violet where they fade into the dark, and the mountains sit almost black...

A tall, narrow slot of crimson light cuts through an otherwise black wall, and a single cloaked figure stands at its base, small enough to read as a silhouette. The light falls forward across a slate floor in a long red wedge, catching grain...

A lion faces forward out of a black field, jaws parted mid-roar. Its hide is dark volcanic rock, split by fine glowing seams that run up the muzzle and across the brow, and the mane is not fur but fire — sheets of molten...

Fan-shaped ginkgo leaves overlap edge to edge across the whole panel, each one graded through a full spectrum — violet at the stem, turquoise through the middle, gold and coral at the notched rim. Fine radiating veins run like fibre-optic threads from the base...

A long-nosed fastback coupe sits in profile on wet asphalt, its violet paint catching a magenta highlight along the shoulder line and chrome-lipped wheels picking up the light. Behind it a cyan wireframe grid rolls toward a low neon skyline, palm trees stand in...

A single tree stands centred on a pure black field, its canopy a near-perfect dome of amber and ember-orange leaves lit from within. The trunk splits into two twisting limbs that meet around a small core of white light, and teal and violet run...

Seven horses come straight at the viewer through wet ground — a dark bay leading at the centre with its blond mane streaming back, flanked by two greys, a black, and a white horse whose mane is lit almost electric by a bolt of...

A young girl is sprayed in black stencil onto a weathered concrete wall, seen in profile with her chin lifted and both hands cupped open. From her palms a line of red origami cranes climbs across the wall, each one folded flat and sharp...

An open hand, painted in cool grey-blue with red light raking across the knuckles, cradles a short red candle. Melted wax runs down over the palm. Above the wick a single warm flame rises and then unravels into thick crimson smoke that fills the...

A humpback whale swims diagonally across deep space, its body drawn in luminous gold outline and filled not with skin but with star fields, nebulae and a bright spiral galaxy set where its flank would be. Violet and teal clouds of gas wrap around...

On a flat black field, red pixel lettering spells out “CHAOS LOADING” above a hollow rectangular progress bar filled roughly a quarter of the way in solid red. Below it, “PLEASE WAIT...” closes the joke in the same blocky screen type. There is nothing...

Across a black field, “THEY SEE YOU” is scrawled in three stacked lines of raw red handwriting, the letters built from frantic overlapping strokes rather than clean lines — the O in “YOU” is a tangle of scribbled loops. Behind the text, dozens of...

A tall galleon bears down head-on, its bow carved into an enormous open-jawed skull that breaks through boiling water. Tattered black sails climb the masts in tiers, rigging strung between them like web, and a skull-and-crossbones pennant snaps from the topmast with a second...

A dragon fills the upper half of the frame head-on: long curved horns, a crown of spines running back from the skull, armoured scales along the muzzle, and two eyes burning ember-orange. From its jaws pours a broad column of white-hot flame that widens...

A corridor of stacked timber beams recedes straight into the panel in black, white and silver-grey. The stepped walls, floor and ceiling interlock like joinery and repeat inward in progressively smaller frames, each edge traced by a thin line of light, until the perspective...

The same pond seen after dark: the water has gone deep sapphire and near-black, and every edge in the picture carries a thin line of light. Six koi — two orange-and-white, a gold, a silver, a pale cream — circle a slow set of...

Oversized, half-transparent blossoms fill the frame — peach, blush pink, cream and pale mint — each petal ribbed like fanned glass and outlined in a thin line of gold. Fine gold stamens radiate from every center, and between the larger flowers a few small...

Large crystalline blossoms open across a dark ground — coral rose and pink on the right, cool teal and sapphire on the left — each petal ribbed like cut glass and edged in a line of molten gold. Gold stamens flare from every center,...

A corridor built from stacked timber beams runs straight back into the panel, each beam saturated in a different color — magenta, cyan, orange, lime, violet, red — with thin neon strips glowing along their edges. The stepped walls, floor and ceiling interlock like...

A single large butterfly fills the center of the panel, its wings shading from pale blue at the body out to lilac and rose at the tips, every vein and outline drawn in fine gold filigree. Behind it a deep indigo sky is scattered...

Seen from directly above, seven koi move through bright turquoise water — two orange-and-white, a golden yellow, a silver-grey and a pale cream among them — their fins fanned out and slightly blurred by the surface. Round lily pads in fresh and olive greens...

A tall vaulted library opens onto an arched window with carved gold tracery. Both casements stand open onto a bright blue sky full of cumulus, with a distant spired city below and climbing roses framing the opening. Warm afternoon light rakes across floor-to-ceiling shelves...

One large butterfly opens its wings across the center of the panel. The wings shade from turquoise at the body out through cream, blush and lilac at the scalloped edges, every vein and scroll drawn in fine gold, with small flowers scattered inside the...

The same tall vaulted library, this time at night. The arched window stands open onto a violet and indigo sky streaked with nebula and thick with stars, a spired city rising in silhouette below. Inside, the shelves are lit from within, warm amber against...

A young woman's face fills the frame, tilted upward, eyes a clear turquoise under long lashes. Around her, translucent flowers in peach, coral and cream open like blown glass, threaded with fine gold filaments and beaded with water droplets. Pale butterflies rest near her...

A white swan turns its head down and to the left, the long curve of its neck filling the upper half of the panel. Its orange bill and dark facial mask are the only strong darks in an otherwise pale picture. Behind and below,...

A single jellyfish hangs in the center of a black field. Its bell is a smooth dome of translucent blue, ridged and highlighted where light slides across it, and beneath it a column of ruffled white oral arms falls away in soft folds. Dozens...

A white swan curves its neck against a deep indigo night. Its bill is orange, its eye dark, and its body catches a cool blue light along every feather. The plumage behind the breast breaks into sapphire, amethyst and rose crystal plumes edged in...

A young woman's face fills the center of the panel, tilted slightly upward, pale skin dusted with freckles and lit from below in violet. Her wide blue eyes catch the light, her lips are a deep rose, and strands of damp gold-brown hair trail...
